Barnett Bears Nursery didn’t exist until 2005, we opened the first premises. Then after being given the planning permission, the new building was purchased and installed in 8 parts. After which the electrics and plumbing were connected and we began to put together the real Barnett Bears Nursery, from inside and out.
Once the build was complete the hard part began. Building our expertise in child development. In order to do so, we required some start of the art equipment.
We started as we meant to go on. We have impeccable record for child development and care. This is all due to the professionalism of the staff and management at the nursery.
In the beginning...
I first went to see Mrs Jude Gibbon, Head Teacher of Ghyllgrove Junior School, Basildon in June 2005.
This was my first meeting of many.
Build a 32 place full day care nursery, with self contained community/training room
Build a large garden for the nursery children with access all year round.
Incorporate into our garden a large area for an allotment to grow fruit and vegetables, to be a joint venture between the nursery and junior school children.
A fresh start
Barnett Bears Nursery re-opened in the new premises in 2009. Situated close to Basildon town centre, Essex. We operate from two play areas and a community room. The premises is accessed via a slope and has disabled toilet facilities.
The Nursery is open each day of the week from 08:00 to 18:00 for 50 weeks a year. All children share access to a secure, fenced, outdoor play area.
The nursery is register on the Early Years, compulsory and voluntary parts of the Childcare Register. A maximum of 32 children may attend the nursery at any one time.
